Whatever Fridays, I'm not looking to impress anyone!

Actions will always speak louder than words.
So when I hear a person in any type of business say(write) those words.
It makes me lift a brow, and take a long hard look at the person.

For anyone in sales, be it on or offline.
First impressions have a big impact on the people you cross paths with.

People determine in the first 5 minutes if they like you or not, in face to face meetings.

I'm not looking to impress anyone!

Online people, click on your social profiles, your About Me Pages to determine if they want to spend their time to get to know you better or not.
They are looking for something that they have in common and can relate to you with.
Sales Pitches won't give them something to relate to you.

I will admit to playing to the 5 minute rule when it comes to business people.
I am out to impress a certain type of business people and marketers.
I have an attitude of :

Some Will, Some Won't, So What?  

Life is to short, for me to spend time on the Some Won't.

Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover.

I've been hearing that all my whole life, and as a child I was lucky enough to cross paths with a New York tycoon.  He was old school, he had built his empire in the times of the great depression(1930's).  It was him that really sunk that phrase into me.

My first impression of the man:

Just a Train Hopping Hobo.

Spinning a whopper of a tail, and I wasn't shy about telling him so either.

The man laughed at me and dug out his business card and handed it to me.  Told me, my local library should have the book of Who's Who.  I was a teen I really didn't care who the dust cover 3 piece suited guy was, I passed the business card to my father, told him whatever it was my mother wanted me to tell him, then headed off to do my thing.

My father was excited, and he dragged me to the library the next day so I could read the page in Who's Who about the man.  I don't remember which store it was the man had built.  It was one of the big named ones in New York, and there was no question it was indeed the man in the flesh since there was a picture of him in the book as well.  So my father dragged me with him to the coffee shop to meet the man again.

I once meet and Old School, Businessman From New York.

The first question I asked the man, that if he was really worth millions why in Gods name was he Hoboing instead of traveling in style?  He laughed.

To get back to my roots.  To get a feel for the real world.  To talk to the average Joe, learn what problems they are facing these days.  I can't do that if I'm traveling in style.

Wonder if that Old Man crossed Paths with the guys Behind UnderCover Boss?

Being a teen I stuck my hand out to him asking to see his wallet.  He laughed as he dug it out to hand it to me.  For me it was a disappointment.  He had some business cards and his I.D.  There wasn't a single dollar bill in it or even a plastic credit card.  I don't know what my face looked like when I looked up at him after I really dug around in his wallet in search for some cash, but it made him laugh.

So my next question of him was:

How was he getting by with an Empty Wallet?

He returned by asking me how much I thought the store owner would pay him to wash the windows or pick up the trash in the parking lot.

I shrugged my shoulders and told him I didn't know.  He looked at my dad who answered it had to be worth a good twenty, which is something you need because our town has a vagrant law.  He said as he took the man's wallet from me to give back to him.

He asked my father if he knew who the owner of the store was, dad pointed him out.  I watched as the man stood up and headed off to talk to the store owner.  He came back a few minutes later to take his suit jacket off and get busy washing the windows and picking up trash.

A ruined $3,000 Business Suit.

I've never been one that keeps up with fashion but I wanted to check out his suit.  It had one of those high end labels and when he returned. I asked him how much the suit was worth.  He smiled and said it was around 3,000.00.

He got a chuckle out of me telling him he was crazy for running around in such a good suit that he would certainly have to destroy when he got home, cause there is just some smells that won't come out, and I knew that he had crossed paths with a skunk.  He then asked me what I learned.  My face made him laugh again.  Cause I bet like you, I didn't get the question.  And the question wasn't about me checking out his suit.  Once he stopped laughing he explain it to me.

While I was washing the windows and picking up trash what did you see?

Just a man working

A man working. Is what I replied and he smiled at me, as he waved the twenty dollar bill in front of him.  If you remember I asked him how he was getting by without money.

He again asked me what did I learn?  I shrugged my shoulders at him.

There are jobs all around you, if you bother to look.  Look out the window and tell me if you see how you can make some money, just like I did.  That time I laughed at him.

I'm not going to go out there and pick up trash.

Why not?  I did it, Why can't you?  What makes you any different from me?  is what he asked me.

Your worth millions I'm not.  Was what I told him, he smiled and chuckled at me and said one word to me before he sipped on his tea and chatted with my father.

Pride.

Pride.  It's having a Vacation.

Many times over the years I have sent my Pride on a Vacation.
Reminding myself of that old Business Tycoon from New York.

So with my story coming to an end.
I can tell you that I have only found Two Men, so far,
that are busy leading by their actions instead of words.

I know for me I am consistently inconsistent, but I think it is better than nothing at all.

Since I started blogging here, I have missed getting anything online in a week, 2 or 3 times in the past 9 months.  You looking at it might think that's bad, but considering everything that is going on in my life, it amazes me that the number isn't higher.

The fact that I'm being labeled a Jack of All Trades is exciting to me.  It means I'm starting to be noticed, and getting advice by the more experienced bloggers and marketers online.  There is honestly a light at the other end of my tunnel.

They have been telling me I need to be more focused and have a niche.
I agree I need to be more focused.

I'm seeing a lot of stories about Niche blogs getting hit by the search engines changes.
I don't know and understand enough about S.E.O.  yet to think about Starting another Blog that is Niched.

Budgets, Sacrifices, Difficulties, Hard Work, Living within your means.

Anyway, back to the subject of my being Consistently inconsistent.

We won't be doing an Off The Wall-Wednesday for a while.

My son is busy with his summer job, and there is some online courses I want to take.
I've got a few Whatever Fridays already in place to come online at 6pm Central Standard Time.
I won't be on the social networks much either.  It's suppose to be a 2 week course, but I'm trying to get prepared for those unexpected distractions that might come knocking on the front door, or a silly squirrel that decides he wants to try walking on the electric wires.

That saying makes me laugh these days.
I'm laughing cause' I've been hearing it a lot lately.
Each one of the people that have said that to me happen to have been a male.
I will not place their names here, but I will thank them for their words.

For pissing me off.  I needed that anger.

If a mother is not a Jack of all Trades, then what is she supposed to be?

The only dang thing I will claim to be a Master of  Being;is a Mother.
It's the only thing in my life that I am confident about.

I'm sorry guys, but your words would have more meaning if it was being said by a woman.
But then it would of had an actual impact on me last month.  Now I just have to laugh.

Words are considered truth until someone can come along and prove the people preaching the words to be false.

Is a Jack of all trades going to make big amounts of money like someone who is seen as a Master?
NO, they aren't.

One can not help but feel like they are chasing the Chicken.  I just noticed I missed a couple of other options, but I think what is already there is more then enough for you to get the picture.

 My Blog is titled  What's Next? The Future.  I got a better idea about how I'm going to get where I want to be, than I did yesterday, and tomorrow I will have an even a better plan on how to get where I'm going.

There is no right way, or wrong way.  There is just the way that works for you.
Do I recommend for you to try being a Jack of all trades?

No! I don't recommend it if your main objective is to make money.

Do I recommend a Marketer just starting out to start with a blog?  No!!!
The really good blogs are using all the Marketing options I mention above.

Hope this Off the Wall-Wednesday is finding you Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.

For me I'm big on Personal Growth.

But some days I find I am lacking in Self Confidences when I am dealing with my son and others.

 I Am Amazing!  Are you?

I know I'm not alone in the fact that there are times when we find ourselves lacking in Self Confidence, and when the situation is over we begin to critique ourselves.

 I Am Happy!  Are you?

It is in those times we become our worst enemy.  No one wants to admit to a peer that they are clueless to what the other person is talking about.  It's a flat out fear of losing face in front of a peer.  We want to impress the peer but in the end, we just end up looking the fool.

 I Am Astounding!  Are you?

I know to many, my online presence makes me look like a scattered brain fool.  Trying to learn too many things all at once.  Juggling being a business woman, a mother, and the provider for my family.  Trying to wear so many hats all at the same time, makes me want to cling to my video hat even more, in search of my inner strength to keep pushing forward.

 I Am What I Am!  Are you?

I have never been one who easily gives up on something that I want.

Building your Self Confidence doesn't work if you don't say the words out loud.

Your mind can not confirm or deny the truth in the words, unless you say the words out loud.

If you mind denies the truth in the words, you spoken then you know it's an I Am Statement that you will need to work on.

You do that by saying the statement out loud, through your day.

For me, I work on my statements ever time I go to the bathroom.

I look myself in the eyes in the mirror as I'm washing my hands, to say the I Am Statements.

I have a list of I Am Statements that I go through every morning.

When I get to one that my mind denies, that is the I Am Statement that I focus on for the day.

 I Am Organized!  Are you?

Yes, it is one of my I Am Statements that I've been working really hard to make into being a part of who I Am.  I will get there, may not be today, but I know one of these morning, my mind will confirm that once again I Am Organized.

I made my 1st Online Dollar.

Whatever Fridays June 12,2015

For any business that 1st Dollar is a big deal.
I don't remember at what age I asked about the framed dollar bill on the wall of a local restaurant that I went to with my family as a child.
It was then that my parents explained to me that it was the 1st dollar the business had made.

Now days people snort at a dollar bill.  But it's a dollar made.
When I told my son we made a dollar he rolled his eyes.  Ask if I was done talking then proceeded to tell me about his day after I told him yes.
He is a teenager, and later I did hear a "I'm proud of you mom" out of him later.

I was rather confused about how the heck I made the dollar myself.
I spent over an hour trying to figure out where it came from cause I couldn't find where I had sold a shirt.

It was the Affiliate Program that I have with them where I made my 1st dollar.  I had forgotten that my Affiliate Link is at the bottom of this blog.

Is Money your Chicken?

I haven't been Chasing the Money Chicken.  If I was there would be ads all over this blog.
I've been chasing the Knowledge Chicken.
I'm old enough to know that Knowledge is more valuable than Money.

Give a Man a Dollar, He will Eat for a Day.  Teach a Man to Farm, He will Never Hunger, Again.

It was a saying I grew up hearing my parents and grandparents telling me.  
The truth in those words still are true for this day and age.
There are some very old sayings that no matter how much time passes and things change around us they will continue to hold true.

Hope you are having a Great Off the Wall-Wednesday.  I'm not going to bother trying to make you laugh today.  I'm going to be serious with you parents out there.

I've been lucky(knock on wood) in the fact that I've not gotten a phone call from a family member telling me to go look at my son's facebook timeline.

But Many times over the years I have seen things on children's Facebook timelines.  That made me go "Oh, someone is going to be in some serious trouble when their parents see that." and I made a point to go tell my son how thankful that I am to have him as my son.

It was then that my son reminded me about a video, that I made them watch with me years ago.

I had just started letting my son start using Facebook back then and my son was misbehaving and fighting me about not wanting to do chores.  So when I came across the video, I used it to open a discussion with my kids.

It didn't take me long to find the video again once my son reminded me of the video.

(Questions I remember asking my son after he watched the video with me years ago.)

Was the father in the video right in what he did as a punishment?

1. Where did you think the money came from to pay for the laptop?

Is the father in the video wrong in asking for the chores to be done?

1. Do you think the father makes her pay him for the food in their fridge that she eats?
2. Do you think the father makes her pay for the clothes she wears?
3. Do you think that father doesn't do things for his daughter when she asks him?
4. Do you think his asking her to do chores around the house any different then her ask him to do things for her?

The father states very clearing in the video that it's not a first time offense.

1. Why do you think that father had to make a video and put it on youtube?
2. Do you really think that father wanted to punish his daughter using youtube?
3. How do you think I will react if you do something like, his daughter did to him?

Am I such a bad mother for telling you, you are grounded from the computer?

1. You could be in that daughter's shoes and no longer have a computer at all.

So I'm almost done.

I asked my son "If the man in the video was your father, would you be proud to wear the shirt below?"  He answered, "Yes mother."

Summer begins June 21 and it is also Father's Day that day.

Shopping online for gifts.  One has to do some planning to insure the gift will arrive before the day it's needed.  Online shopping isn't the best choice for the last minute shopper.

While I was working on my Designs to go into the online store, my mother asked me over my shoulder, Do you really think your father would wear one of those T-shirts?  I groaned and grumbled for her to go away.  I knew she was right.  He would wear the T-shirt long enough to get his picture taken then I would never see him in it again.  With that in mind, I designed the T-shirt below.
